A hypothetical dietary tracking app that makes the hidden water cost of food production visible — translating complex environmental data into an interface that's intuitive, minimal, and built around everyday decisions.
After a user persona & user journey map were created to understand the target audience, the app was built around four core interactions: discovering new foods, ranking items by water usage, managing a personal collection, and adjusting settings.
Each food item is presented as a card displaying ingredient details, estimated water usage data, and a save option. Saved items collect into a Pinterest-style layout, making it easy to revisit and compare favorites over time.
A bi-weekly evaluation was added to give users a reason to keep using the app by holding them accountable for their usage. By implementing this, the idea is to encourage goal-setting and habitual change.
